Between 3-7 October, TRINITY has been presented at the 35th regional conference CIGRE 2021 in Zlatibor (Serbia) by SEEPEX, EMS, IMP, EKC, and SCC partners. This year’s topic was “Energy Transition and Smart Grid”.
TRINITY was presented in the booth hosted by SEEPEX, Transmission System Operator of Serbia (EMS), the Electricity Coordination Centre (EKC), the Institute Mihajlo Pupin (IMP), and the Security Coordination Centre Ltd. Belgrade (SCC).
Additionally, there were presented two papers related to the TRINITY project titled “Improved methodology for solving short-term inadequacy” and “Optimization module for capacity reserve trading application”, both will be available as open access by the beginning of 2022.
The paper “Improved methodology for solving short-term inadequacy was presented”, presented by SCC, covered the main similarities and differences between CROSSBOW and TRINITY algorithm -both Horizon 2020 projects-, followed with an example on realistic data. In conclusion, optimal solutions obtained using CROSSBOW and TRINITY algorithm on given example are presented showing that TRINITY algorithm provides far better solutions of the optimisation since reduce production and transaction costs of electricity for double.
The paper “Optimization module for capacity reserve trading application” presents the operation of the optimization module of the Capacity Reserve Market application, developed within TRINITY. The basic optimization problem comes down to the linear programming problem, and open source libraries, specifically the GNU Linear Programming Toolkit, are used to solve this problem. Data on auctions, participants, CZC / ATC, and other data are stored in a relational database on a MySQL compatible MariaDB platform.
CIGRE is a global community focused on the collaborative development and sharing of knowledge among power system experts and CIGRE SERBIA is one of the 59 National Committees. CIGRE consists of 16 study committees, that cover all relevant areas of the power system. This conference is the place where people who work in the electricity industry can find answers to their questions, where they can prepare for new trends and future challenges, learn from domestic and world experts and share knowledge with their colleagues.
