After two years due to the COVID-19 constraints, TRINITY celebrated its on-site Consortium Meeting, hosted by ESO EAD, on the 6th and 7th of March in Sofia. The event was officially opened by the Deputy Minister of energy Mr. Danail Nikolov, the Executive Director of the Electricity System Operator Mr. Angelin Tsachev, the Director National Dispaching Centre in ESO EAD and member of board of ENTSOe Mr. Dimitar Zarchev.
“The project is of significant importance because it will support the processes of electricity market unification in Southeast Europe, their inclusion into the common European market and it will answer to the challenges related to the changing market model stemming from the Green Deal“, remarked Angelin Tsachev.
Besides, Nikolai Iliev, Deputy Director at ESO EAD, expressed “the final results will create a model which will be very close to the real necessities of the market participants and the system operators”. During the meeting, Mr. Iliev recorded a video statement to explain the importance of the project (watch it below).
The project activities are currently in the stage of testing, demonstration, and integration. During the 2-days meeting, the participants discussed the current status of different tasks. Additionally, to keep on a good track of the development of TRINITY solutions, internal workshops were held to solve challenges found and to agree on the next steps together.
The next project steps are the integration tests and the data exchange between the platforms.
