The next BRIDGE General Assembly 2022 presenting the latest developments of the initiative will take place Online on March 22nd, 23rd and 24th, 2022. High level representatives from the Directorate-General for Energy will share the last policy updates.
TRINITY representatives will participate the session Parallel Session 1: REGULATION Working Group by presenting the “Action 3: Cross-border and regional cooperation”. The goal of this task was to create report explaining scope and maturity of products from various ongoing Horizon 2020 projects which are related to the topics.
This session will recap on the activities tackled during 2021 and discussion on the new topics for 2022. The four tracks identified in 2021 will be presented through the 5 actions that have been developed: products design, service provision for energy communities, coordination and system security, flexibility mechanisms, and local markets. Not only the main conclusions of each actions – included in the annual report – will be presented, but also the feedback received at the Dynamic Knowledge sharing workshops organised by several of the actions. The discussion on the future topics and next steps will be triggered from the already performed analyses on each of the tracks for 2022.
The BRIDGE Working Group on Regulation is working on the following topics:
- As regards energy storage, the regulatory framework needs to provide clear rules and responsibilities concerning ownership, competition, technical modalities and financial conditions, for island and mainland cases
- In terms of smart grids, regulatory challenges arise regarding the incentives for demand-side response, commercial arrangements, cooperation with TSO and DSO, smart meter date, etc.
